If you have ever received a school behaviour letter, been told your child’s behaviour has gotten worse or anything like that this blog is for you.
Poor behaviour can have many causes, such as emotional struggles, immaturity and underlying conditions amongst other things.
Schools have a responsibility to ensure that the environment it hosts is suitable for learning. As such, they have an obligation to address anything that disrupts the learning of their pupils.
Generally, they try to manage difficult behaviour through their existing internal systems and by working together with parents.
They will also use behaviour management and/or reporting systems, which they use to track and log those behavioural issues.
If and when those internal systems fail, schools will begin to look to external agencies that may be able to offer insights and expertise beyond what the school staff may be able to offer.
We realise that when you are contacted about the proposition of your child needing additional support, particularly if it is from an external service, this can be alarming.
That’s why we created “The Journey” as a system for working with young people and supporting their parents/carers.
Our aim is to be as helpful and supportive as possible and to make the process a smooth experience for you.
You are most important part of the equation after your child, and your role cannot be understated.
How you respond, how you manage your own feelings.
The things you do and the changes you make are all crucial.
If you would like to benefit from the free resources we have created to help you as you support our child, please get in touch for more info.
