Our Values

What's important to us.

Our key drivers are to deliver:

  1. High quality expertise, insight and interventions to schools and communities, families and children.
  2. Expertise in the arena of social and emotional learning for children, and behavioural support for schools.
  3. Child developmental support for parents.
  4. Crucial psycho-education for children and parents, alongside capacity building for school staff.

We believe:

• every person has the right to feel

• emotions are legitimate and valid

• feelings need to be expressed

• emotional literacy and intelligence do not just happen, they need to be taught

On a practical level we have embraced helpfulness as the central tenet of the organisation. This guiding principle is intrinsic to every aspect of our service planning, development and delivery, where we always ask ourselves "how we can assist".

This posture of helpfulness stands alongside our adherence to a systemic and therapeutic framework for the analysis of difficulties and the subsequent interventions.

We therefore begin from a starting point, (even if it is an assumption) that everyone is doing the best they can under the circumstances. In other words, people behave the way they do for a reason.

Therefore, an understanding of the cause/motivation for the behaviour is part of the process and helps to understand and craft the most suitable response or intervention.

We believe that our transparency and accountability give us the grounds to say "Trust EMspace" where we see the potential and not just the 'the problem'.

How can we help?
